This is my random, transparent thought for the day...
I have a friend who just had a baby girl. I have a son who is approximately 9 months older than she is. Given typical circumstances the phrases, "When they grow up they can get married!" Or, "Hey, your wife was born today!" would have passed through my lips today, but each time the thought came into my head I quickly quashed it. I don't think I need to spell it out for you to understand why.
Does this make me a terrible person? I feel like it sort of does. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my boy and I would not trade him for anything in the world, but this is just one of those things that when it comes to mind, makes me a little sad.
It makes you an honest person. You are honest with yourself and your son about what the future holds and in that way you are able to look forward to his unique and wonderful future and all that it entails. Definitely not a terrible person.
