Home Away From Home

That is what Children’s Hospital became. Please know, I realize there are babies in the hospital who have been there for months and are there for way more serious problems than we were facing, but to me, this was bad. It was endless. It was exhausting.

Every time we visited we had to “scrub in”, wear these silly robes, we had to ask to hold him then be really careful with the tubes and wires cause they were in his head, it was all very obnoxious, but the nurses at Children’s Hospital were fantastic. My two favorite nurses were Kathy and Ada and I knew when I left him he was in good hands. It didn’t make it any easier to leave him every afternoon- I always felt this sense of guilt about having to do so. Got to love mommy guilt.
