Let's Get This Ball Rolling

I was legitimately concerned about the possibility that this baby would be born in the car on the way to the hospital. Legitimately. And those of you who know the story of Baxter’s birth (it’s on the blog if you’re dying to read it) know why.  So, I decided I wanted to be induced…hangs head in shame. Marcie flew into town on my due date, August 28th, and I had an OB appointment on the 29th where we would decide when we would do the induction. Well whoa! We get to the appointment and the Doctor says “You can go to the hospital tonight!” Uhh…uhh…cold feet…uhh..how about tomorrow?? Okay, honestly, Aaron and I were supposed to go out on a date that night and I REALLY didn’t want to miss out on it.  So we decided that I would call at 6am the next morning to see when I could come in. That night Aaron and I went to the Farmers Market (hot date!) and then something else but neither one of us can remember what we did- a lot has happened since then!

The next morning I woke up at that ungodly hour (I am not a morning person) and called only to be told to call back at 10am-ggrrr. I knew how this was going to go, I was going to keep calling back all day and not end up getting in, may as well go on with my day. Lorelai had been looking at this kids cookbook and was aching to make something, so I told her we would make the ice cream cone cupcakes, so after dropping Isaac off at school, we went to the store to get the supplies. I called the hospital, told they were still full and to call back at 1pm. Blah.

We had no sooner walked in the door and gotten ready to make the cupcakes then my phone rings. It’s the hospital, could we be there by 11am? Of course! Lorelai and I hastily mixed together the cake mix and got the cupcakes in the oven. God bless Marcie (Oma), she was left with the messy part- decorating. Thankfully I had actually been getting prepared so it was a quick thing to get out the door and to the hospital- mom went with us.
